cost How much does SMP cost at Scalp Revival?
A one-time investment between AU$1,500 and AU$4,000 depending on coverage. Firm quote at the free consultation. No monthly payments — unlike hair meds or hair systems.
cost Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We work with Afterpay for smaller cases and offer split-pay direct with the studio for larger cases. We walk through payment options at your free consultation.
cost Is the consultation actually free?
Yes. Genuinely free. No deposit, no card on file. You leave with a personalised plan and a firm quote. We only charge once you decide to book treatment.
cost Do I need to pay a deposit to book?
No. We don't take deposits. Book your consultation with no commitment. Payment happens only when we start treatment.
process Does SMP hurt?
Most clients rate it 2–3 out of 10. Nowhere near tattoo pain. Many find it relaxing enough to fall asleep during longer sessions.
process How many sessions will I need?
Most clients need 3 sessions spaced 7–14 days apart. Each session builds density on top of the last — the final session locks the result.
process How long is each session?
Between 2 and 4 hours depending on coverage. Bring headphones and something to watch. Water, tea, and snacks are on us.
process What happens at the consultation?
We assess your scalp, colour-match your pigment, discuss your goals and expectations, walk through the entire process, and give you a firm quote. Zero pressure to book.
process How long from booking to finished result?
Usually 4–6 weeks from your first session to the final touch-up. You'll see a dramatic difference after session one.
results Is SMP permanent?
Yes. We use organic carbon-based pigment specifically formulated for the scalp. It won't turn blue or green over time. Most clients get a light touch-up every 4–6 years.
results Will people be able to tell I got SMP?
Only if you tell them. Our style is calibrated to look like real stubble, not a solid shape. Up close, across the room, in photos — it looks like your own hair growing back.
results Can I still shave my head normally?
Yes. Whatever you were doing before, you keep doing. SMP integrates with your existing routine — no special products or restrictions.
results What happens if I gain weight, lose weight, or age?
SMP moves with your scalp because it's placed IN the skin, not on top. As long as the pigment is there, it grows and ages with you naturally.
results Can I swim, exercise, or shower normally after?
After a short healing period (usually 4–5 days between sessions), yes — everything back to normal. We give you a printed aftercare plan on session one.
safety What if I don't like the result?
You won't — the simulation shows exactly what you'll look like before you commit. Every full treatment includes a 12-month touch-up guarantee. If anything isn't right, we fix it.
safety Is SMP safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our pigment is hypoallergenic and specifically formulated for scalp application. If you have known skin conditions we assess it during the consultation and adjust.
safety Can I get SMP over existing scars or hair transplant work?
Yes — that's some of our most common work. We colour-match pigment to break up scar lines and integrate with existing follicles for a seamless look.
safety What pigment do you use?
Organic, carbon-based pigment formulated specifically for scalp micropigmentation — not tattoo ink. It fades to a lighter version of itself over time instead of turning colours.
